World Breastfeeding Week begins August 1st
Over the past two weeks, I have been involved in an online Breastfeeding Carnival.
Participants advocate breastfeeding through blog posts and were emailed a new topic to write about each day.
I discovered some awesome women by reading the other participants blog posts. It was really neat to be part of it.
There are many reasons why I love being a nursing mom.
But those reasons were amplified and clarified in the past two weeks. I realized how special breastfeeding is to me, and how positively it has impacted my daughter and I’s lives.
When I learned that the first week of August is World Breastfeeding Week, I wanted to take some sort of action to help the cause. My first thought was donating through the Bring Birth Home Store.
Bring Birth Home Store re-opens to donate 10% of total earnings to the La Leche League
I will be re-opening the BBH Store on August 3th (a little late, I know) to do my part in advocating breastfeeding – by donating to the La Leche League.
The official store opening happened last month, but I closed the doors after two weeks to re-vamp and re-align the store’s wares with my passion, helping women.
Donations will run from Tuesday, August 3rd to Friday, August 13th.
Introducing New Breastfeeding Baskets
This month, my good friend Maria at Mama Goddess Birth Shop has joined me in the cause of breastfeeding advocacy and awareness by creating beautiful breastfeeding baskets to sell at the store. She has agreed to donate 10% of each sale to LLL as well!
The breastfeeding baskets will contain:
- 2 pairs of organic cotton re-useable nursing pads
- Nourishing the Mother Tea
- Soothing Nipple Pads
- Gel-Free Breast Soothers
- Lanisoh Nipple Cream
- Calming Spritzer
Each item in the basket will also be available for individual sale, just in case you only want one or two products offered.
And the first 25 people to purchase any item in the store, large or small, will receive a free Bring Birth Home button with their order!
