A Precious Welcome Giveaway!

About A Precious Welcome by owner Emily Webb

A Precious Welcome was started after I honored a friend with an elaborate baby shower.

Many of the guests thought it was the most unique shower they had ever been to.

Family and friends painted onesies for lil’ Isabella, I handmade favors for the guests, and the centerpiece was a 4 foot tall diaper cake. I also created a “shower journal” for all the women to make predictions, wishes, and pass along their knowledge of birth and parenting.

It was an amazing day!

About the same time as the shower, after being inspired by my daughter’s beautiful, natural birth, I realized that I knew NO ONE who had a a natural birth. This revelation was disturbing, seeing as I work in an office where there are generally 3 pregnant women at all times! I heard every horror story there is, and when I started telling my birth story (20 hours of laboring at home, then 2 hours in the hospital before a quick, simple, med-free delivery), they didn’t believed me when I said it wasn’t bad and I would do it again.

I was shocked! I felt birth has been twisted into something scary and now I had personal experience that it doesn’t have to be that way. I started learning more about natural birth and decided I want to help women have positive birth experiences.

I decided I wanted to be a doula. Then I realized I didn’t have the money to pay for the training… Being a social worker may be rewarding, but I’m never gonna get rich doing it. I began A Precious Welcome to fund my training, and hopefully this project will be the first step to a life of watching babies meet their new families!

The other goal of A Precious Welcome is to give babies a special and unique welcome into the world…

and of course to make memories that mama will never forget! Visit us to find diaper cakes, onesie paining kits (for a family project or a whole baby shower), and hand decorated wooden name letters to match baby’s nursery. We have also expanded on diaper cakes to create linen cakes, which are great with cloth diapers, baby layette items, or linens for a bridal shower! Complete a shower with invitations and thank you notes, favors and a shower journal!

The Giveaway

Hand decorated wooden name letters are approx. 3″ tall, hung on shimmering organza ribbon (special requests gladly taken).

Each letter is decorated with high quality scrapbook paper and embellished with beautiful accents to compliment your little one’s room perfectly.

The giveaway is for any name up to 10 letters (if you have first and middle names under 10 letters, that’s fine too!) We need to know the colors and theme of the room, and any special things your little one loves, so we can make them as special as possible!

    I’d love to win!!
My LO’s name is Finnegan. Our colors for him are greens, browns, and purples. His nursery theme is fantasy and steampunk , so dragons, castles, clockwork and hot air balloons!

  2. Christine M. says:

How beautiful! I would love to win this because my daughter has an uncommon name (in the USA at least) and it’s very hard, if not impossible to find anything this lovely that’s so personalized. Thanks for the chance to win!

My daughter’s name is Valentina and she was birthed naturally, in the water, at home!

  3. Kash says:

Why would I like to win?

Well, my poor third child currently has no room. We’re getting ready to move, and she’ll have her own room there. Still, the other two have their own name in letters in THEIR rooms. I know she’d love to see her name in her new room. Plus, it’s unusual – Brigid – so we have to get everything custom-done anyway! (My poor girls, they both have ‘unusual’ names, as far as finding personalized doo-dads goes!)

My son is my third he was born at home in water! It was a fast hard birth but so filled with joy. His name is the smallest easiest of all my children Eli. Short sweet name for my bubbaroni.lol

  5. Katrina says:

I would love to win this for number 2 on the way or maybe for my daughter…they look so cute!

  6. Erica Lea says:

I would be so thrilled and honored to win this for my little girl! She is the center of my Universe, and the reason I am going to school for Midwifery!! She was peacefully born at home on the bed in which she was conceived <3

I think the gift is beautiful and unique, just like my daughter Charli Samantha : ) People often wonder if her name is short for a longer name such as Charlotte or Charlene (but it's just Charli!). She is strong and feminine ~ Just as her name means, and I'd love to showcase this for her to be proud of! *When she's old enough to read that is!! heehee : )

  7. Marlene says:

I would love to win this to inspire us to finally decorate the baby’s room. He is almost 11 months old! Poor kid, half of his room is still used for storage.

  8. Sarah Mahar says:

What a great giveaway! I would love to win because I haven’t found “just the right” letters to go in my Duder’s room. Big sister has a special name sign that my mom got her. LO’s name is Liam David & his room is decorated in a transportation theme (cars, trucks, bikes, planes, etc) & bright bold colors (yellow, green, red, blue, etc). Sweet Liam was born at home in the water after a fairly easy labor & his personality definitely reflects his birth.

  9. Rose says:

I would love to win this for my 5 month old daughter, Celia. We are in the process of adding another bedroom onto the house so that she can have her own room. Right now, she’s sharing with us because her 3 brothers take up the other bedrooms. I know it will be a blast to decorate a bedroom for a little girl finally! These letters would be a great addition to that!

  10. Christie says:

Oh, how special! I would love this sweet thing for my bebe’s room. Darby Moon was born in our small home, in her room…which happens to also be our computer room. We painted some giraffes on the wall above her crib, but it still feels all wrong. I’m hoping to eventually encounter the right decorations (hopefully in giraffe print! or something with moons!) to make her room feel like her: sweet, fun, curious, peaceful and loved.

  11. Ariel says:

I would love to win! :) We are going with a neutral colors, since we don’t know the gender of the baby yet, like cream and sage green. We have names picked out and just waiting to see which one we will use.

  12. kari mcdaniel says:

I would love to win this for my son! His name is Tracy Maxwell!! OR maybe for the one I’m expecting…whom has not been named yet!

  13. Sarah says:

These are beautiful – Sophia and Emma both want one! ;) Em was born naturally in the hospital after 12 hours of labor at home and 4 hours of labor at the hospital. Sophia was born (3 weeks ago already!) at home in the water after 13 hours of labor (11 hours of real labor). Both births were exactly what I wanted at the time! :)

  14. Cassandra says:

I never had an actual baby shower, or blessingway, or anything close to it. My parents did get me a balloon, a couple gifts and made a cake, but there was no fun, no rejoicing. I actually wrote a big blog post about how sad it was that my baby would be brought into this world with no fanfare at all, no celebration at all. Every good thing in life should be celebrated, even small things, perhaps especially the small things. My girl doesn’t have her own room yet, but I would really love to have this so when she does, we can have a big celebration for her becoming a big girl and christen the door with her name.

  15. Jen says:

    What a wonderful giveaway!

I would love to win this giveaway since we’re starting to plan for baby #2 (HBAC). Our little one and future little one will be sharing a room, and it’d be nice for them to have matching name signs over their beds. Thanks!

  16. Treva says:

My daughter saw this and would love it for her room.At four with an uncommon name. She has us doing a lot of home made for her.

  17. Dena says:

    Good luck with your goals!

I, too, try to spread the word that childbirth can be wonderful. I tell everyone I can that my 27 hour was so awesome that I can’t wait to do it again.

  18. Brooke says:

I would love to win for our baby girl due to be born at home in early July.

  19. Juniper says:

I would love to win this for our newest addition, Eleanor!

Eleanor will be here in July, she is our first! We are so thrilled, and will be having her at home.
We don’t have a ton of funding to decorate a nursery, and it would be so awesome to have something this beautiful and personal in her room.

  20. Emily Webb says:
