About the Author
My name is Kaitlin Rose. I’m the mother of two beautiful children who were both born at home.
A few months after the birth of our first, daughter Ella Rose, I got the idea to start a website dedicated to sharing home birth stories with families to show giving birth at home as a viable option.
I joined a social community called My Best Birth – Ricki Lake’s site for holistic families – and met a great group of women who had given birth at home, just like me (I didn’t know many back then!). A small handful of those women shared their beautiful stories with me to publish on Bring Birth Home.
I soon realized this site would need more than birth stories alone. Beyond opening minds to the idea of birthing at home, I wanted to help support families in the preparation phase of planning a home birth. So I created pages, a blog, a Facebook page and wrote an email newsletter about home birth preparation called The 9 Steps to Home Birth Prep.
Over the past two years, I’ve helped hundreds of families plan and prepare for their home births through the newsletter, our wonderful Facebook community and private phone consultations.
