Hi everybody, it’s Monday again, which means it’s time for another inspiring home birth quote. I personally nominated today’s guest.
You probably noticed, “BBH News,” in the title as well. I had to add that in because so much has been happening this past week! If you missed it, now is your chance to catch up with all that’s been goin’ on with BBH!
First, our Home Birth Quote of today:
Lesley and I met on Twitter a few months ago.
I was so excited to read her submitted birth story. She has a great storytelling voice to her writing, which I’d noticed from reading her blog, Mother Wit Doula.
Here is my favorite quote from her unassisted birth story:
“My first baby was about my becoming a woman and a mother, & inspired me to find my path. My second baby was about discovering incredible intuition, & bringing through a soul so familiar, I’ve known him forever. Oona, my third, showed me what my love looks like, & what the power of intention has the potential to create.”

“Piping Hot Post”
Last week, I submitted a article to The Stir, a blog within Cafe Mom, called Three Tips for a Successful Home Birth.
My main focus was less about tips or advice about how to have a successful home birth, but more so to highlight the three core components of what make home birth so great!
1) Prenatal care
2) Actual labor/birth at home
3) Postpartum support
So many people stopped by to read it, like it or leave a comment. Thank you!
Have you read the article yet? Here it is: Three Tips for a Successful Home Birth
The 75+ comments on this topic contributed by the lovely fans and friends of Bring Birth Home on Facebook greatly attributed to the inspiration and creation of the piece. Thank you!
Whenever home birth is mentioned, you can expect a heated debate to follow.
The article stirred up quite the conversation at Cafe Mom’s Fan Page. A heated dialog, (over 140 comments) ensued.
Why is home birth such a topic of debate?
Why all the mommy-wars over the choice of birth location when statistics consistently show planned home birth to be as safe as or safer than hospitals?
I’ll be writing more about that later this week.
May Webinar Recording Is On The Way
I’ve had some technical difficulties with the recording of May’s webinar event with Karen Angstadt, but my designer/tech assistant is on it and it should be done TODAY.
If you’ve ever struggled with trying to figure out the right decision to make, Karen can help. She’s been a mentor to women for over 10 years, and has been working specifically in pregnancy in childbirth since 2008.
Wise Woman Karen can help us tap into our internal intuition. She gives away so much free advice in this 60 minute conversation.
When the recording is ready, trust me, you’ll be the first to know!
